Army Chaplain in Iraq calls for prayer

In January 2006 an American chaplain called for urgent prayer for the safety of troops involved in Iraq’s election on Jan 30. A week later, it seemed one could praise God for answered prayer. The violence during the election was far less than was dreaded, and the Iraqi people on the whole defied the threats of insurgents and turned out in remarkable numbers to vote - maybe more than 60% per cent of eligible voters. But hope was shortlived as  since then the Shiite/Sunni sectarian violence has escalated horribly, ruining the climate of hope.

We must continue to pray for the Iraqi people, for their political leaders, and for all troops stationed there including the Australians, and for God’s restraint upon suicide bombers and other evil people.

Pray for the people of Aceh

In the early aftermath of the Asian tsunami on 24 December 2004, Martin Ritzmann, Indonesia Field Director for OMF International, called for special and continuing prayer for the people of Aceh, hardest hit of all the affected areas. OMF have also supplied a profile of the province and its people.
